We're still looking forward to developer Nicalis bringing Cave Story 3D to the Nintendo 3DS eShop next month, but now the company has another excellent trick up its sleeve.

It will be publishing hard-as-nails indie platformer VVVVVV for the eShop later this year, which is very good news indeed.

VVVVVV was developed by indie developer Terry Cavanagh, and sees players control Captain Veridian as he flips his way through a series of rooms in the VVVVVV dimension.

It was a huge hit when it was released back at the start of 2010, and will no doubt be great fun for the 3DS. This new version contains all the features of the original, along with a new stereoscopic 3D look.

The developer also promises that future content updates will be provided, so even after you've finished the game, you can expect more levels to pop up later on.
