2D Boy has revealed that its excellent PC physics-puzzler World of Goo is on its way shortly to Android, a good year after its release on iOS.

The game revolves around saving as many goo balls in each level as possible by constructing elaborate structures out of them in order to reach a suction pipe.

Its surreal and beautiful graphics are the first thing that’ll catch your eye (check out the screenshots from the iPad version up there if you don’t believe me), but it’s the cunning level design and brilliantly evocative atmosphere that make it such a great game.

In fact, World of Goo managed to snag a Pocket Gamer Gold Award from this very writer when it debuted last year on mobiles, so needless to say we’re rather excited about seeing it on our various ‘droids.

2D Boy has confirmed that this new version will be available for both Android tablets and mobiles, and while this is the first time the company has announced the game for the platform, it is expected to arrive “soon”.
