Exclusive: PSN and iPhone hit Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light landing exclusively on Xperia Play in November

Square Enix and Sony Ericsson have just revealed that the twin-stick action-adventure game Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be arriving exclusively (for Android) on Xperia Play in November.

The game was originally released on PSN and Xbox Live Arcade, featured a new isometric viewpoint, and saw everyone’s favourite ‘well-equipped’ tomb raider team up with an ancient warrior to stop all hell being set loose amongst an old temple.

Last year's iOS version managed to earn a gleaming Pocket Gamer Bronze Award, with - predictably - the touchscreen controls being the major drawback. We’d expect the Xperia Play's physical buttons to alleviate or eliminate many of these control issues.

Square Enix has also revealed that Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be the first of a number of releases scheduled for the Xperia Play, with Ben Cusack, head of mobile for Square Enix Europe, saying, “this is just the start of what we plan to do together”.
