Invictus revs up for official Race of Champions game for iOS and Android
Who's the fastest?
Prior to the establishment of the Race of Champions, the question of how to rank drivers from different motorsports was about as speculative as those 'shark versus crocodile' or 'badger versus baboon' debates.
However, the knock-out event which takes drivers from F1, WRC, NASCAR and other four-wheeled pursuits is now an annual occurrence with rally experts Mattias Ekström and Sébastien Loeb often taking the Champion of Champions top spot.
And you'll be able to get in on the action this year, as Hungarian developer Invictus has announced it's gained the official license for the mobile game it will be bringing to iOS and Android.
It's due to be launched in October ahead of the 2011 ROC event held in December in Düsseldorf, Germany, which will feature the likes of Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel and Jenson Button.
Pedal to the touchscreenThe game will include tracks and cars based on recent events, including tarmac and off-road racing. The Race of Champions is organised around a series of head-to-head races in identical cars on a parallel track.
In addition, different modes will let you compete against friends and challenge other players to beat the times of the participating champions.
"We are thrilled to be given the opportunity to work with the Race Of Champions franchise," said Tamas Kozak of Invictus.
"The event provides us with the basis for a highly original race game concept, which combined with our custom-built racing technology will provide racing fans with a truly unique experience."
