Display boxes for Nintendo's Super Mario 3D Land have hit Japanese store shelves, and have subsequently revealed several previously unannounced features.

According to Andriasang, the plumber's latest adventure will feature StreetPass functionality that will allow you to trade special in-game items with other players. What these in-game items are remains to be seen.

Secondly, the game will contain P-Wing Assist Blocks, which will provide you with helpful items to get you out of sticky situations. The P-Wing was first introduced to the platforming franchise in Super Mario Bros 3.

Pocket Gamer went hands-on with Super Mario 3D Land back in July, so check that out for even more details of Mario's upcoming adventure.
