You win some, you lose some. Earlier today we reported that Chillingo would be publishing Radiangames's much-anticipated shooter Super Crossfire. Now we're reporting that it won't, for some reason, be publishing Lab Rats Studio's equally anticipated shooter M.U.S.E.

The news follows the release earlier this week of the first gameplay trailer for the delayed over-the-shoulder shooter, which was developed in the Unity engine, much like Madfinger's Shadowgun.

Lab Rats Studio has revealed that the episodic game will feature destructible environmental objects, comic book-style cut-scenes, an arcade-style scoring system with Game Center integration, and an 'adrenaline' mode that heightens your senses and adds score multipliers (see screenshot). It sounds a bit like Sega's console shooter Vanquish.

The story? You play as government agent Sid Tripp as you find and kill an intelligent lunatic called The Brain before he can put together a world-conquering robot army.

As for the delay, Lab Rats Studio told Pocket Gamer that, “we decided to add more features and functionality to the game to ensure that M.U.S.E. will be a polished and exciting game to play upon release.”

The developer also revealed that it “looks forward to partnering with Chillingo in the future.”

M.U.S.E. Is due to hit the App Store this December.
