Final Fantasy X HD Edition coming to PS Vita, FF Type-0 on PSP and FFXIII-2 on PS Vita also dated
Wrong Final Fantasy?
Square Enix’s Shinji Hashimoto revealed during Sony’s pre-TGS conference that a tenth anniversary edition of Final Fantasy X will be released in HD for both PS Vita and PS3.
As he spoke, hands were covering mouths in anticipation of a massive shock announcement as journalists toyed with the idea that Square Enix had finally relented and remade Final Fantasy VII while no one was looking.
Alas, no. And there was no mention of a specific release date for the FFX remake, either.
Square Enix did however take the opportunity to date two other titles in its huge-selling Final Fantasy franchise. Final Fantasy Type-0 for PSP is turning up on Japanese shelves on October 27th, while the PS Vita's Final Fantasy XIII-2 will arrive in its home country sometime in December.
And the announcements didn’t stop there. Two new games are currently in development: an action-RPG called Lord of Apocalypse, which is set to be one of the PS Vita's 26 launch titles, and the amusingly titled Army Corps of Hell.
We can expect more details to emerge on most of these games from the main TGS conference which starts tomorrow, and where they're expected to show up in playable form. So, more news then, hopefully.
