The much-maligned second 3DS Circle Pad and the 3DS version of online Wii game Monster Hunter Tri both started life as unlikely sounding rumours before somehow coming true.

So what else has the 3DS rumour mill produced in recent weeks?

With Nintendo’s pre Tokyo Game Show 3DS press conference only seven away, now's a good time to take a look at the rumours currently doing the rounds for Nintendo’s handheld.

You'll have to take them all with a pinch of salt, but, as today's Circle Pad nonsense shows, nothing is impossible.

• A 2D Yoshi game developed by Good-Feel – the developer of Wii platformer Kirby’s Epic Yarn.
• A game from the developers of the WarioWare series.
• A new instalment in the Etrian Odyssey series.
• A project in development by Alchemist, a Japanese developer specialising in visual novels.
• The planned DS re-release of Grasshopper Manufacture’s The Silver Case, has apparently been moved onto the 3DS. The title was originally a Japan only Playstation exclusive released in 1999.
• Sequel to Baten Kaitos, the cult GameCube card-based RPG.
Mach Rider Unchained, based on a NES launch title, the game will apparently feature a mix of vehicular chases and cinematic on-foot shooting sections.
• On the 3DS eShop: Super Mario Land 3D will have a downloadable demo, and The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords will be a free download.
• A new instalment in lawyer-em-up Ace Attorney for the 3DS, featuring an Edgeworth scenario.
• A sequel to DS Final Fantasy spin-off The Four Heroes of Light.
God Eater could potentially be announced for both the 3DS and PlayStation Vita.
