Capcom's Monster Hunter Tri G outed for 3DS, expanded port of Monster Hunter Tri Wii game

Capcom hinted at it back in July, but it now seems certain that the company's action RPG series Monster Hunter is heading for the Nintendo 3DS.

The news of Monster Hunter Tri G for Nintendo's 3D-toting handheld appears in the latest issue of Japanese magazine Famitsu.

And while we can't vouch for internet translators, we do know for sure that it's an expanded port of the Wii's Monster Hunter Tri and not a brand-new game.

On the positive side, though, underwater battles have finally made the cut (unlike the PSP versions), and local wi-fi multiplayer is also included. Unfortunately, there's no word yet on any online multiplayer support.

Whilst Capcom are busy rejigging the Monster Hunter controls to fit the 3DS, it could well be that Nintendo is rejigging the 3DS control system to help them out a bit, since Monster Hunter Tri G is rumoured to be making use of Nintendo's new Circle Pad accessory.
