Atlus bringing remake of PS2 JRPG Persona 4 to the PS Vita, out in spring 2012

According to Japanese gaming bible Famitsu (and handily translated by Andriasang), famed developer Atlus is hard at work developing a remake of the PS2 game Persona 4 for the PS Vita.

The game’s full title will be Persona 4: The Golden, and will feature a new character (Marie), updated voiceovers, a new call for help ability when dying in a dungeon, and several shiny new animated cutscenes.

Persona 4: The Golden for PS Vita is due out in spring 2012, and we’re expecting 3G and wi-fi support to be included, along with new personas (a kind of personal spirit used in battle) and character costumes.

Make it Personal

If you are unfamiliar with the Persona 4 original, it's a JRPG featuring a character-driven narrative, a series of grisly murders, and a team of high school demon summoners trying to get to the root of the deaths.

To find out why this Persona 4 announcement is good news for all future PS Vita owners, why not check out our review of Atlus’s Persona 3 on PSP?

It earned a Gold Award, you know.
