EA's Madden NFL 12 has breached Apple's and Google's defences, and has sprinted into the end zone.

This year's version of the pigskin-flinging footy franchise features over 2,500 players, including top QB Tom Brady, everybody's favourite WR Chad Ochocinco, and the hard-as-nails Wes Welker.

You can warm your players up in the game's Exhibition mode, take them through a 16-game NFL season to lift the Lombardi trophy, or relive the 2010/2011 playoffs.

New additions to the series include smoother and harder-hitting collision effects, Origin leaderboards, and a brand-new set of achievements to bag.

32 teams, in-depth playbooks, and real-world stadiums are, as always, present.

Pocket Gamer's Damon Brown was lucky enough to grab a hands-on with Madden NFL 12 back in July, so go and check that out while you wait for our review.

If you fancy taking a team of your choice all the way to the Super Bowl, you can grab Madden NFL 12 from the App Store for £4.99 / $6.99 / €5.49 on iPhone or £6.99 / $9.99 / €7.99 on iPad, or from the Android Market for £4.86.
