FGOL chomps down onto iPhone with freemium Hungry Shark Night
Death Worm with sharks
With over 18 million downloads of its Hungry Shark games on iOS and Android, Future Games of London knows plenty about the public's appetite for sharp teeth biting into pale flesh.
And like a Great White munching on a pod of seals, the developer's keen to get another bellyfull - releasing Hungry Shark Night.
A bigger boatTied-in with Relativity Media's forthcoming movie Shark Night 3D, it's loosely based on the plot, which plays out along the lines of "a sexy summer weekend turns into a blood-soaked nightmare for a group of college students trapped on an island surrounded by voracious underwater predators".
I never would have guessed...
As for the actual gameplay, it plays a bit like Death Worm as you control your shark (via tilt or touch), diving deep to discover items, and then rushing to the surface to chomp on swimmers and keep your health topped up.
A freemium game, only the Tiger Shark is initially unlocked, with the Hammerhead costing £1.99 and the Great White £2.99.
You can also purchase other upgrades such as an extra life (£1.49), the treasure map to tell you where items are (£1.99), or extra blood and guts with the bloodbath update (£1.49).
Hungry Shark Night is out now for third generation and better iPhones and iPod touches.
