Retro platforming gem Rod Land: A Fairy Tale coming to iPhone and iPad on September 6th

Developer DotEmu has announced that it's bringing retro platformer Rod Land: A Fairy Tale to Apple's iOS platform.

Taking on the role of a magical fairy, you're tasked with saving your mother from her kidnappers by defeating enemies with your magic wand.

When you're done with the 60 levels found in the game's Story mode, you can jump straight into Survival mode, which gives you just nine lives to complete each stage of the game.

There are even three different endings to unlock, and support for both OpenFeint and Game Center.

Old skool

Rod Land: A Fairy Tale has previously graced arcade cabinets, the Amstrad CPC, Atari's ST, the Commodore 64, the Commodore Amiga, the NES, and even Nintendo's Game Boy.

It will arrive on the App Store as a Universal app for iPhone and iPad, and will be available on September 6th.

Unfortunately, we don't currently have a price for Rod Land: A Fairy Tale to share with you.
