With the build up to the Rugby World Cup growing apace - at least in those select countries who enjoy the rough and tumble - sport games expert Distinctive is getting in on the fun.

It's just released a free flick kicker game that has you attempting to successfully complete conversions and penalty kicks.

Rugby Kicks is another release in its Kicks series: Football Kicks has achieved 6 million downloads.

Linked into the basic kicking are character customisation options in terms of your avatar and kit, as well as the game progression that enables you to make your way from amateur matches to professional status as you get to hire a coach and play in bigger and bigger stadiums.

Game Center is supported in terms of achievements and leaderboards.

"With Rugby Kicks we wanted to create a simple yet deep rugby game that everyone can play and enjoy, and gives rugby fans, gamers and sports enthusiasts a taste of the skill and judgment required to consistently score conversion kicks." explained Nigel Little, Distinctive's MD.

Rugby Kicks is out now for iPhone and iPod touch and is free.

You can see how it plays in the following video.
