OpenFeint begins rolling out its next generation social network for Android, will hit iOS this autumn

OpenFeint has begun to implement the first elements of its new cross-platform social gaming network.

This sees new player profiles, messaging walls, and status updates accompanying the host of features that were already present.

If you're unfamiliar with OpenFeint, it is - as mentioned - a social gaming network that allows you to unlock achievements, view leaderboards, chat with your buddies, and see who's playing what.

Although OpenFeint started out on the iPhone, it's Android users who've managed to get their mitts on the goods first, with an iOS release expected in the autumn.

700 is the magic number

OpenFeint is now built into 700 Android titles, including popular Halfbrick hit Fruit Ninja, Glu's Gun Bros and Bug Village, and Godzilab's StarDunk.

It accounts for 24 of the top 100 Android games.
