Do I really need to explain this again?

Okay. It's Wednesday, which means a brand new batch of red-hot iOS releases have hit the New Zealand App Store.

The Pocket Gamer team is too busy drinking beer, lazing about, and playing Tiny Tower to bring you a story on every single one of them, so we've brought you this handy little round-up instead.

This week we have more entries from Chillingo (again?), the first ever title in the newly created child-punting genre, a fast-paced racer from EA, and a spot of Fruit Ninja-esque fishing.

Expect to see these on UK shores from around midnight.

EA's latest Need for Speed iOS outing sees you racing through the trees of The Black Forest, the deserts of Abu Dhabi, and the waterfronts of Rio, as you aim to top exclusive Origin leaderboards.

You can earn credits and upgrade the game's 40 cars with new tires, suspension, nitrous, spoilers, rims, body kits, and a host of other tasty extras.

Harbor Master creator Imangi Studios's Temple Run tests your reflexes, as you race down temple walls, avoid obstacles, collect coins, and buy power-ups.

You control the game's protagonist using simple swipe and tilt controls, and aim to unlock Game Center achievements.

Leaderboards are also present and accounted for.

Chillingo's Emberwind tasks you with taking control of a stubby gnome called Kindle Elderwood, and freeing the city of Grendale from an evil gremlin known as CandleFinger. Scary.

You'll do battle against huge bosses, smash goblins to smithereens, master combos and special attacks, and discover secret bonuses hidden throughout.

Ninja Fishing is a Fruit Ninja-esque fishing game that sees you launch fish into the air, before chopping them into small pieces with a katana.

There are over 20 different fish to slice 'n' dice, treasure chests to find, dynamite that will spoil your day if slashed, and Game Center and OpenFeint achievements.

Hothead Games's Kickin Momma is the debut title in the slightly controversial child-punting genre.

You play as Momma (an alien), kicking her helpless kids through 36 levels of shiny jewels and gems, in order to get her blue mitts on a new necklace.

Namco's Toss The Ball is a carnival game where you throw balls at specific sections of a board to earn points.

There are over 12 balls to master – each with their own characteristics and abilities – five different boards to compete on, multiple difficulty settings and power-ups, and Game Center achievements.
