Rumour: iPhone 5 possibly delayed until 2012 due to overheating A5 chip
|

According to a report from Chinese tech site Sohu.com, Apple's (probably) magical and (possibly) revolutionary iPhone 5 has been delayed due to an overheating A5 processor.

Although the gadget is yet to be officially announced, the report states that Apple is having trouble keeping the powerful A5 chip cool in the small chassis of the new iPhone.

This leads the site to believe that Apple will avoid a new iPhone redesign until 2012, when the gadget will bounce back packing a powerful A6 chip.

The now infamous iPhone 4S will apparently fill the Apple touchscreen void, presumably this autumn.

Apply to Apple

Why autumn? Well, we recently reported on a job posting that popped up on UK employment website Reed, which seeks "full-time iPhone Sales Staff for an exciting project to work 5 days a week (Tuesday-Saturday) for the period 16th August - 29th October within key retail stores."

Apple obviously has something up its sleeve for around September, but what that is we just don't know. Yet.

Would you buy a slightly improved iPhone 4S in a flash, or do you have your heart set on something a little more magical?
