All about the patterns

It's rare a game can make its mark in terms of art style rather than its gameplay, but developer Little Flower's Little Skywire is one such.

Like a riff on the psychedelic pop culture of The Beatles' Yellow Submarine, you have to guide a wire-bound cable car through 40 levels of colourful, whirly confusion - flowers are opening, dolphins jumping out of the ocean, and huge lips floating around, not to mention all those undulating stars.

All you have to do is work out the regular patterns of motion, moving your cable car through these potential obstacles as the gaps allow.

It's none too tricky, but with stars rewarded for time taken and number of collisions, replayability is encouraged. You can also unlock different vehicles using your stars.

Little Skywire is available for iPhone and iPod touch, priced 99c, €0.79 or 59p.
