Developer Mobigame, which owes some of its fame to award-winning puzzler Edge and the rest to the fact that erstwhile trademark troll Tim Langdell singled that game out for scurrilous litigation, has teased a follow-up game on Twitter.

Mobigame has released several games for iOS in the last couple of years, including action title Perfect Cell, puzzler Cross Fingers, and ribald cartoon racer Trucker's Delight. All have been more or less well-received.

So why has Mobigame returned to the Edge brand? It may have something to do with the fact that the developer finally secured the trademark for the term 'Edge' in a video game context in May, paving the way for a litigation-free launch.

Details are sparse on what the new Edge game will be like, but thanks to the URL of the teaser image we know it's probably called Edge Extended. It's “coming this summer.”

The original Edge (formerly Edgy and Edge by Mobigame), meanwhile, is available on the App Store now as a universal app for £1.79/$2.99 [buy].
