Short-term memory loss

Now Gingerbread IS coming to the HTC Desire

Well, that was quick.

A day after HTC managed to anger its loyal fans by telling them that the original Desire won’t be getting Android Gingerbread, the company has suddenly performed a U-turn and stated that the new version of the OS will, in fact, be coming to the phone.

The explanation? It's not clear, but a post on the UK Facebook page reads simply, “Contrary to what we said earlier, we are going to bring Gingerbread to HTC Desire.”

This is despite the company previously saying that there was no way of putting Gingerbread on the model because of memory issues.

Perhaps they found a few extra megabytes hiding under the sofa overnight?
