E3 2011: Kaz Hirai confirms Sony NGP is called PlayStation Vita

Kaz Hirai has just confirmed the recent strong rumours that Sony's next generation portable will indeed be named PlayStation Vita.

Speaking at the company's E3 press briefing, Hirai said the device will "blur lines between entertainment and your real life", talking up the "cutting-edge" features, including DualShock-esque analogue stick controls, the 5-inch OLED screen, and front and rear touch panels.

He also said that the Vita's front and rear cameras would offer Augmented Reality experiences "like never seen before".
