Rumour: Sony NGP now called PS Vita

Rumour: Sony NGP now called PS Vita

Snaps allegedly from Sony's E3 presentation have surfaced online at Games Pundit suggesting that Sony’s Next Generation Portable (NGP) will be renamed PS Vita.

The news apparently appeared first on the invite-only Mega Rock Blog before vanishing. RipTen has since corroborated the rumour.

The name Vita means ‘life’ in Italian, and certainly seems to fit in with the names Sony has used in the past, such as Bravia and Vaio.

To add further special sauce to the rumour burger, web domain names psvita.com and vita.scedev.com have also been discovered (it's not clear by whom, but Joystiq is among the sites to have reported it.)

The pamphlet itself could have something to do with the expected NGP/PS Vita announcements at E3 next week. We can expect some more concrete details then.
