Rumour: Shinobi revival coming to Nintendo 3DS

It looks like a new Shinobi game is headed for the Nintendo 3DS, nearly ten years after the last release from the franchise.

The cover of an upcoming Nintendo Power magazine was leaked on IGN, naming a Shinobi revival. Twitter rumour mine Superannuation also spotted mentions of a Shinobi 3DS game on a couple of LinkedIn profiles, although these were later removed.

Now a video has appeared, as spotted by VG247, which appears to be an internal Sega reel. It says, "Re-imagined for the Nintendo 3DS" before cutting off early.

After contacting Nintendo, VG247 was told to, "Keep your eyes open for something official coming your way later this week." It sounds like we'll be playing some Shinobi at E3!
