As part of Electronic Arts's ongoing Players' Choice sale, classic board game Monopoly has had its house price slashed to £2.99 on iPad.

Every day this week, the giant games publisher has been inviting readers of sites such as MacLife and GamePro to vote for the game they want to see on sale.

The HD editions of Dead Space and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 were two earlier beneficiaries of the X Factor-style poll, and now Monopoly for iPad receives the same price reduction treatment. EA's iPhone version of the empire-building staple collected a Silver Award on its way past Go, so all budding entrepreneurs should check out the supersized version now.
