An unlikelier pairing you couldn’t imagine – apart, perhaps, from that one currently covered by a certain superinjunction – but EA has chosen the unusual duo of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 and Dead Space for its current round of iPad price cuts.

Mark Twain may have claimed that “golf is a good walk spoiled”, but then they didn’t have iPads in the late 19th century. If Twain were alive today, he’d probably enjoy the latest title starring the world’s greatest philanderer. The iPhone version earned a Pocket Gamer Silver Award in March.

Dead Space – a good trudge around a deserted spaceship spoiled by spike-handed mutants – also earned a Silver Award back in January.

Both titles come highly recommended, especially at their bargainous new price points. Tiger has been sliced from £3.99 to £1.79 – or $6.99 to $2.99 for US owners, while Dead Space’s tag has been aggressively hacked in two from £5.99/$9.99 to £2.99/$4.99.
