Award-winning indie developer Erik Svedang burned into our hearts last year with the artsy iPhone adventure Kometen, and now he’s back with the decidedly old skool Tri-Tri-Triobelisk.

An update of his game Shot Shot Shoot, Tri-Tri-Triobelisk is a mano-e-mano space battle. You defend your five battleships while trying to take down the enemy’s fleet. The twist is that your guns need to recharge periodically, so good timing is essential to survive.

The Shot Shot Shoot revival has two-player mode, as well as two computer difficulty levels. It also features thumping beats and spacy art direction from the musician Triobelisk.

Tri-Tri-Triobelisk for iPad is out now for 59p/99c.
