Gameloft has released a brand new downloadable map pack for highly-rated FPS N.O.V.A. 2, with three new multiplayer stages and a handful of bug fixes.

One map, Floating Rocks, contains a series of low-orbit platforms for short-range skirmishes, while Aquarius Beach is better-suited to mid-range combat, housing sniper nests and organic cover positions.

The final map, Icy Bridge, features a large energy field, which is solid enough to walk across but is also permeable by any weapon. It favours larger groups, with the central strategic facility proving a good position to hold.

The pack is available now for just $1.99 on the US store, or £1.19 for UK players. Once you've downloaded it you get ten free XP levels for the multiplayer game.

N.O.V.A. 2 remains one of the best iOS shooters we’ve played, and it rightly earned a Pocket Gamer Gold Award for its efforts upon release late last year.

We have a selection of new screens for the map pack in the gallery, as well as an official trailer, which is embedded below.
