Having spent all of a week flapping around on the Amazon Appstore, Angry Birds Rio will now finally be available to everyone outside the US courtesy of the Android Market.

Rovio confirmed via Facebook that it’s still ironing out a few kinks with the latest instalment but it was confident we should see it on Google’s international distribution service soon.

Angry Birds Rio is one of the growing trend of mobile game film tie-ins (see also Doodle Jump Hop), which sees the birds being shipped to Brazil and forced to release their captured brethren.

We gave the Android version a Pocket Gamer Bronze Award earlier in the week, with Peter Eykemans saying it, “delivers on solid gameplay and quality level design” so if you’re a fan, it’s well worth checking out.

The Android Market version of the game will be only available as a free ad-supported download, much like the existing Angry Birds games on the market.
