iOS Angry Birds Rio tie-in hits the New Zealand App Store
After what feels like an ice age
Rovio's Angry Birds Rio tie-in for iPhone and iPad has hit the New Zealand App Store.
Angry Birds Rio tweaks the Angry Birds formula slightly by letting you free captured birds rather than kill pigs, true to the plot of the CGI movie hitting cinemas on April 15th.
It features 60 levels, a boss fight, and “Special Hidden Fruit”. Rovio has promised to supply new content throughout 2011. An Android version will be coming exclusively to the Amazon Appstore soon – first you'll need to wait for the Android Appstore to launch.
Angry Birds Rio is out now in New Zealand for NZ$1.29, which means it'll be available in the UK and US within 24 hours for 59p and 99c. The iPad version, Angry Birds Rio HD, is dramatically more expensive at NZ$6.49, equating to £2.99 and $4.99.
