Huge AR cards for the 3DS create life-size Miis in your living room

When we played around with the Nintendo 3DS Augmented Reality cards earlier in the week, we commented on how we'd love to see developers taking it a step further and pushing the boundaries of the tech.

Trust Nintendo to get there first. In the latest instalment of Iwata Asks, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has revealed that the company is currently working on much larger version of the AR cards that will allow you to project life-size Miis into your living room.

Iwata even provided proof, with a photo showing him standing next to a life-size Mii version of himself.

Here comes the bad news - these oversized cards are only planned for Japan at the moment, and will soon be available for purchase via the Japanese Club Nintendo.
