Rovio has revealed that Angry Birds for Android has been downloaded a staggering 30 million times since its launch last October.

The Android version of the hit title is ad-supported, unlike the iOS original (or indeed, all the other platforms it’s appeared on), so these download numbers don’t directly correlate into straight-up revenue for the company.

However, considering Rovio was expecting to be making $1 million from the ads by the end of last year, we suspect the Finnish developer is doing pretty well out of it.

Normally, we’d write a paragraph about what Angry Birds is about, maybe a link to the review for those who want to find out in detail the strengths and weaknessess of the game, but, statistically, if you’re reading this then it’s a fairly safe bet you know all about it.

Angry Birds and spin-off Angry Birds Seasons are available now on the Android Market for free, with the next update for the latter title expected to be at the top o’ the morning on St Patrick’s Day (March 17th).
