Few, if any, details have been announced but industry mover and shaker David Perry is known to be making a new game. It will be his first for five years.

The founder of Shiny and designer of Earthworm Jim, MDK, Sacrifice, Messiah, Enter the Matrix etc is mainly occupied with the streaming games service Gaiki these days. But in order to help out the One Big Game charity project, he’s getting back into design and development.

All that’s being revealed so far is that the game will be released for iPad, sometime in early summer, and that Apple is said to be super impressed with the project.

Doing it for the kids

One Big Game is a project whereby developers create and sell games, with the proceeds for a certain period of time - usually six months - being given to the organisation, which then passes them onto two charities, Save the Children and Starlights Children Foundation.

During 2010, it raised over $100,000 thanks to mainly to the release of Zoe Mode’s XBLA game Chimes. Masaya Matsuura's iPhone music game WINtA was also released as part of the program.
