While most publishers are warning consumers about piracy, Capcom is actively promoting it with the latest update to freemium social game Lil’ Pirates, which includes a number of new features and bug fixes.

Firstly, the game is now a universal app, meaning you can play it on iPad as well as iPhone and iPod touch. New items, themes, and an island have all been added, as has a new customisable Captain’s Cabin area.

Game Center support has also been included as part of the update, adding achievements and the ability to recruit friends to join you in the pirate life.

This rectifies the lack of social gaming network support that Pocket Gamer criticised when we reviewed the game back in November, although its omission was not enough to stop Jon Mundy awarding Lil’ Pirates a Silver Award.
