EA Sports has just updated FIFA 11, finally delivering the local multiplayer that fans have been crying out for.

This latest iPhone fixture for the long-running football franchise impressed Keith Andrew at review, earning a respectable eight out of ten and a Pocket Gamer Silver Award. You can read our FIFA 11 review here.

One of the major criticisms levelled at the game was the lack of a local multiplayer - depriving players of the shouty, swear-laden, living room fun you'd expect from a console FIFA title.

Thankfully, this new update lets you play against your friends using a wi-fi or Bluetooth connection, at last bringing all the violently competitive fun of the sport into your home.

It also fixes a few frame-rate issues, and includes some all-new tutorial screens.

You can download FIFA 11 version 1.2.0 from the App Store now, priced £2.99 / $4.99 / €3,99.
