More PlayStation-certified portable devices are coming if a report from Engadget is any indication.

The publication cites multiple sources close to Sony that the code-named S1 tablet will be the first PlayStation-certified tablet, offering PlayStation games on a large touchscreen later this year.

Purportedly, the S1 carries a Tegra 2 graphics processor included specifically for gaming on the device's 1280x800 resolution screen. Engadget reports that the device also has front- and rear-facing camera and a USB port.

Wi-fi is naturally supported, though there is no mention of 3G or 4G support.

What's interesting is the concept art that depicts a curvy design that folds back on itself. Surprisingly, this curve houses the graphics processor and battery.

Sony supposedly plans on releasing the S1 in September at a price of $599. Of course, we'll know for sure once Sony announces the device.
