Fils-Aime: Zelda: Ocarina of Time on 3DS 'largely complete'

Staggered releases to help third parties

Fils-Aime: Zelda: Ocarina of Time on 3DS 'largely complete'

Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D and Kid Icarus: Uprising are two of the most eagerly anticipated titles for the 3DS but neither is in the launch line-up for the Nintendo handheld.

Fortunately for fans, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime has said that it won’t be long before they’re on the shelves.

Fils-Aime told GGTV, “We've shown off Ocarina of Time and we're going to release it when it makes most sense. Kid Icarus is not in the launch window. "These games are nearly done and development is largely complete. Fans are not going to have to wait very long for these games to come out."

He explained that in order to protect third-party games from being crowded out of the marketplace by Nintendo’s own franchises, they are going to use a staggered release schedule for their own games.

Fils-Aime said, "We wanted third parties to really have a dramatic presence in the launch window and we've achieved that."

Nintendo recently confirmed that thirteen titles will be available for the 3DS when it launches in the UK on the 25th March. GamerZines
