Full House Poker heading to Windows Phone 7 on March 16th

Snap! No, wait, that’s the other one

Full House Poker heading to Windows Phone 7 on March 16th

The Xbox Live avatar on Windows Phone 7 doesn’t half seem pointless at the moment.

Sure, he pops up in amusing ways when you’re watching your home tiles, which was relatively cute the first few times it happened, but in general there doesn’t seem much point to him.

That’s looking to change with the news that Microsoft will be releasing its new XBLA game, Full House Poker. on WP7 as a companion to the home console version currently working its way to Live Arcade.

In Full House Poker you (finally) get to use your avatar to do something useful: play poker. The game doesn’t allow for multiplayer games (something of an increasing gripe many have with the WP7 format), but will allow you to increase your chip pile and experience points before heading back to the home console and picking up where you left off.

There’s also a number of features unique to WP7 ready to tempt owners of both onto the handset, including special card decks not found in the Xbox 360 version, along with over 100 unlockable items like tables and player titles.

Full House Poker should be showing its hand to the Zune Marketplace on March 16th.
