iPhone mega-hit Angy Birds flocking to 3DS
Pigging out
Rovio has confirmed that it plans to bring Angry Birds to 3DS.
Rumours of Angry Birds for both Wii and 3DS have circulated for a while now. They were confirmed over the weekend.
Speaking to 3DS Focus via Twitter, Rovio said that all three current Angry Birds titles will be available for both Wii and 3DS 'later this year'.
That means the original Angry Birds, the holiday-themed Angry Birds Seasons, and upcoming animated movie tie-in Angry Birds Rio.
Rovio also confirmed that the titles will be digital downloads, available via the 3DSWare online service:
"We prefer downloads and digital distribution on all platforms, it's green like the pigs."
Whether these new versions will carry exclusive content, or indeed whether Rovio will take advantage of the 3D display, is still unclear.
At least digital distribution should keep the price competitive with the games' iPhone predecessors.
