Gameloft looking to bring down Android release delays in future

Modern Combat 2 set to shoot up Android later this week

Android fans waiting patiently for Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus to arrive on Gameloft’s web store will be pleased to know that the hit iOS FPS title will be rolling out by the end of the week.

Modern Combat 2 wowed our iPhone Editor, Tracy Erickson, when it first appeared at the tail-end of 2010 with its eye-catching graphics, tight controls, and exceptional multiplayer before picking up a well-deserved Pocket Gamer gold award.

Thankfully it looks like the Android version is shaping up to be just as good as the original release.

Ported power

Having played a selection of levels from what looked to be a finished build of the game earlier in the month, I can report that performance on the Galaxy S handset was second-to-none, with a fully customisable interface, smooth framerate, and exceptionally vibrant colours on the S-AMOLED display.

The company told Pocket Gamer that it was aiming to synchronise iPhone and Android releases in the future, bringing delays between versions ideally down to just one month.
