Owners of Fruit Ninja on Android have had to put up with that taunting ‘Coming Soon’ icon on the mode screen since the game’s release back in September.

Even worse, those sniffy iPhone types have had the update for months now.

Good news – Arcade mode has now been added to the Android version too. Has it been worth the wait?

Arcade mode resembles Zen mode in that you have a limited time in which to slice fruit – this time a mere 60 seconds. It’s a far more involved affair, though, thanks to the addition of bonus bananas that speed up play, grant you double points or slow everything down to allow for maximum precision.

Half Brick’s casual delight is available now on the Android Market, with the free Arcade mode update included, for £0.62p / $0.99c.
