UK retailer The Hut has put the 3DS up for pre-order across its conglomerate of online shopping hubs, including Zavvi, WHSmith, Best Buy, and Woolworths. The listing gives a possible price and release date for Nintendo’s upcoming hardware.

The glasses-free 3D games console is priced at a wallet-bursting £299.95, an amazing 4p off the stated £300 recommended retail price. That’s over $460, and about 39,000 Yen - quite a bit more than its 25,000 Yen price in Japan.

The company has put the release date as March 25th, 2011. We’ve often suspected that the console would appear in Europe in March, and Nintendo’s UK boss said as much at the Learning Without Frontiers event.

Retailers GAME, Play, and Amazon have chosen “register your interest” forms or placeholder pages, with no dates or prices, while Gamestation is going with a March 1st 3DS launch date.

We should get official launch details for the device at Nintendo’s Amsterdam event next Wednesday.
