Hit iPhone platformer :Shift: coming to Android
Beta trials now taking place
Minimalistic platform-puzzler :Shift: is all set to make the familiar trip from iPhone to Android.
The game adopts a stylishly retro two-tone aesthetic, and a similarly straightforward control system. There are just three controls for negotiating each hazard-filled 2D level. Left and right handle movement, while pressing both makes you jump.
The interesting part comes in the shape of a third command, which relates to the game’s title. Hitting ‘shift’ turns the world upside down and reverses your character’s black-on-white silhouette nature.
Suddenly the empty space around you becomes solid earth, and vice-versa.
Developer Armor Games is currently running a limited Beta trial for the game. Before you ask, don’t bother – application for entry has already closed.
We have to point out that this conversion is rather late, with the game’s sequel having just been released on iPhone. Still, as we often find ourselves saying when it comes to Android gaming – better late than never.
