Exclusive: Hexage reveals details on new untitled Android game

Hexage, producer of quality smartphone games like EVAC and Buka and contender for Android developer of the year, has been so kind as to give us a sneak heads-up as to the direction of its next project.

It’s early days – so early that it doesn’t have a title yet – but it’s already sounding pretty exciting.

According to main man David Peroutka, the company plans to “experiment a little with our first 2011 title and release it as a free ad-supported game.” Free, yes. We like free.

“It will be a quick to pick up match for two players or player vs AI,” he says, adding that the game would be set in a distant future dominated by “evolved supercomputers and their robot armies.”

As for the direction of the game, we can expect a healthy mix of action and strategy: “The game should be heavy on lasers, blasting, hacking and spawning of your own robots” explains Peroutka, promising that “it will look mindless, but there will be an underlying layer of strategy to it.”

Peroutka couldn’t go into any detail on the design, as the game really is very early in production.

I don’t know about you, but that’s more than enough to shoot the game to the top of my most wanted list for 2011.
