OrangePixel has just released Super Drill Panic onto the Android Market.

The game continues the developer’s knack for updating established gameplay systems, this time the classic 'drop ball concept'.

This involves descending 15 treacherous levels in an attempt to avoid a messy death beneath an enormous boulder. Along the way your character (who resembles an 8-bit Indiana Jones) must collect loot, which can be used to upgrade your equipment and abilities.

Super Drill Panic offers up both accelerometer and touch controls, and promises, “a large amount of variation in danger and thrilling obstacles.” As well as avoiding the main threat of that boulder, you must, “turn switches to open doors, watch out for falling spiders, shooting spears, moving walls, and much much more.”

OpenFeint integration ensures that you’ll be able to benefit from online high scores and unlockable achievements. Meanwhile, OrangePixel has promised continued support for the game in the form of, “new characters to play, new environments, and new dangers.”

Super Drill Panic is available now on the Android Market for £0.84.
