Like evolution itself, there seems to be infinite number of ways of taking the basic Tetris gameplay and giving it a little twist.

The latest example to hit the App Store is Teka Teki from UK outfit YoYo Games.

It has you dropping tiles that consist of food groups and animals.

You have to group the food together in typical match-three manner and then drop the correct animal onto them. Examples include pandas and bamboo, or monkeys and bananas.

Hardly rocket science, but nevertheless it provides as a nice enough variation on the theme.

Teka Teki has 15 levels, and supports Game Center for achievements and high scores. Obviously, the goal of the game is to build big combos by getting the animals to eat as much food as possible in one go.

It's available now for iPhone and iPod touch priced 99c, €0.79, or 59p, or you can try out the free Lite version [iTunes link].
