Glu has sent the price of Lord of the Rings: Middle Earth Defense plummeting down the mines of Moria today, despite the game having only been released a few weeks ago.

Taking key scenes from the film and creating tower defence scenarios from them, Middle Earth Defense involves placing down wooden barricades to slow the various monsters under Sauron’s command and funnel them into areas where the heroes of the fellowship (and random Elves) can pummel them to death.

iPad users benefit the most from the sale as the game drops a full £3/$5 to the same price as the iPhone version, but a saving is made either way.

Lord of the Rings: Middle Earth Defense for iPhone and iPad is available now from the App Store for £2.99 / $4.99 / €3.99 for a limited time.
