Downsized Games gained media attention earlier in the year with the announcement of BulleTrain - a game that poked fun at the fact that its four founders had been happily working at Pandemic Studios, until it got closed down by EA.

Indeed, the game's description on the App Store still talks about Elaborate Acquisitions, a company which led by the dastardly JR, devises an elaborate scheme to buy, then sell, then buy again, then shut down a small company.

Wanted dead or dead

As for BulleTrain - now officially renamed BulleTrain .22, it's a mad lightgun-style finger tapping game set on a wild wild west steampunk bullet train, and full of Time Crisis gun-wielding baddies, huge turrets, flying things and the occasional power up.

Indeed, the action is so intense, your fingers will start to hurt. You'll have to swap hands and digits as the camera continues to sweep over the carriages and more and more and more enemies spawn.

Whether this is enjoyable is down to personal preference. I found it a little too taxing, but then I have very delicate fingers.

High scores and achievements are supported via OpenFeint.

BulleTrain .22 is out now for iPhone and iPod touch, priced $1.99, €1.59 or £1.19.

You can see the trailer for it below.
