Angry Birds developer promises something ’a bit different' for Christmas

Watch out: there are more Angry Birds overhead. Following the immense success of Rovio’s spooky Halloween spin off, which shifted a million copies in six days, the developer would be mad to pass up a Christmas edition.

And Rovio agrees, tweeting, “we will do something cool for Christmas. A bit different too...” Presumably meaning something more than chucking snow on all the levels, and plopping Santa hats on all the pigs.

Recently, the Finnish developer has been a bit Twitter mad, revealing bits and bobs about the iPhone’s most popular game series in 140 characters or fewer.

Sorry, American turkey fans, a Thanksgiving-based game won’t be coming - there’s not enough time to design, make, and submit one.

The Mighty Eagle feature, which lets you bypass any level by paying a few real world pennies to the giant bird, should be coming in a “week or so”. And Rovio is “looking into” Windows 7 support, despite the Twitter spat, but has “nothing to announce quite yet.”
