If you’ve got an insatiable hankering for crappy 90s Full Motion Video games and 80s laserdisc nightmares, there’s no better place to stoke your nostalgia than your iOS device.

Between Don Bluth’s Space Ace, spooky horror 7th Guest and baffling puzzle adventure Myst, the App Store is packed to bursting with constant reminders of the industry's troubled past.

Tap to play

The latest is Dragon’s Lair, which is now available on iPad in HD form.

The game offers up Saturday morning cartoon style graphics, and asks you to tap away at sections of the screen to help our intrepid hero, Dirk the Daring, rescue his princess from the evil wizard Mordroc.

It’s about as exciting as a sponge in 2010, when games can look good and be interesting to play, but if you have fond memories of slotting 50p pieces into these frustrating machines, perhaps it's worth a few more coins.

The game is yours for £2.99 / $4.99 / €3.99, while if you want to save a penny, the iPhone version is a more palatable 59p / 99c / €0.79c.
