Long considered lost in developer hell following its failure to be released in the spring, twin stick shooter Revolt has finally arrived on the App Store.

What's more, it's available for a special limited time introductory price of £1.19, €1.59 or $1.99.

Enter the Terminatrix

A near future world is in peril as a virus sweeps the globe, decimating the human population. Your job is to enter the lair of the machines and uncover the secrets behind the enslavement of humanity.

Controlling your avatar, Guy, via dual virtual sticks, you must blast your way through eight levels of droids, usurping their technology and using it against them in the form of upgradeable weaponry.

Other features include: three modes of difficulty, destructible environments and a variety of enemies with unique behaviours and weaponry.

We last saw Revolt back in March 2010, when the first video was revealed, and Pocket Gamer's Tracy Erickson got his hands on a build for his preview.

A new video was posted on the developer's website earlier today, which includes a new Lights Out game mode that will be included in a forthcoming update, although for some reason, we can't embed it.

You can check out the original trailer below though.
